The solid fiberboards bursting strength tester consists of upper and lower clamps where a sample of fiberboards are placed and tightened with the help of handle. Increasing hydraulic pressures is applied using the handle (moving up and down) on the left side of tester that causes the diaphragm to expand till the specimen ruptures. Bursting strength (pressure reading) is displayed on the digital display. There are two options to check the strength of the material; by manual application of hydraulic pressure or by automatic pneumatic pressures through a rubber structure.
It is important to test the bursting strength of the fiberboards, besides compressibility, tearing resistance, hardness, drop strength and other properties. The precise result of bursting strength allows the packaging manufacturer to use the right material for manufacturing the high strength boxes.
