Adhesives play a vital role in the packaging industry. Adhesives can provide a strong bond between two materials, which can help to keep your packaging secure. They can also help to protect your packaging from moisture and other environmental factors. But what if these adhesives can get peeled off easily? This would result in damage to the product and can often lead to high product rejection rates. Thus, it is important for the manufacturers of the packaging industry to test the peel strength of packages. We at Presto have designed one of the high-quality lab testing equipment known as the peel strength tester.
This is one of the high-quality
lab testing instruments that is used to test the
peel strength of adhesives and other related materials. The digital model of this high-quality
lab testing equipment is based on a microprocessor-based display to conduct accurate testing results. Besides this, it has been embedded with feather touch controls that make it easy for the manufacturers to conduct
peel strength tests on the materials. Here, we are going to provide you with essential information about how you can easily calculate the
peel strength of adhesives with the help of the Presto peel adhesion tester. But first, let us focus on the usage of Presto
peel strength tester and its benefits.
What is a peel strength tester and for what purpose it can be used?
Adhesives are an important part of the packaging. They help to keep products safe and secure and can be used to seal up packages or attach labels. Adhesives can also seal out moisture and other contaminants, protecting the contents of the package. And because they are available in a wide range of formulations, adhesives can be tailored to meet the specific needs of any packaging application. Testing the
peel/seal/bond strength of adhesives is an important part quality control process. If you are searching for a quality
peel strength tester then you can go with Presto
peel/ seal/bond and adhesion strength tester. This is one of the high-quality
laboratory testing equipment that can be used to quantify the permanence of adhesion or peel ability of self-adhesive materials.
This testing equipment has been made strictly in accordance with industrial standards as per ASTM standards and can be used in the plastic packaging industry. It has been built on a rigid metallic base plate and is finished in autumn gray & blue combination with bright chrome and zinc plating to give it a corrosion-resistant finish. The instructional manual will also be sent with this
testing instrument and has been made in accordance with industry standards to ensure users will get highly accurate testing results. You can read brief information about this high-quality
lab testing equipment. Now, let us discuss the features of the
Presto peel strength tester.

With these features and technical specifications, one can easily conduct
peel strength tests on the materials and
measure the performance of adhesives. Now, let us discuss how you can calculate the peel strength of materials with the
Presto peel tester.
Perform the peel strength test and calculate the peel strength of adhesives
As we have discussed above adhesives are widely used in packaging due to their ability to form a strong bond between surfaces. This makes them ideal for holding together different materials, such as paper and cardboard. To conduct the
peel strength test on the materials, you can
prepare the testing specimen first.
Once the specimen will accurately be prepared then, you can place the upper and lower grips on the specimen and tighten it firmly. Bring a lower movable grip upwards so that specimen can easily reach the grips. You must ensure that the distance between the lower limit switch and the specimen will be a minimum of 25mm. Place the lower end of the specimen in the lower grips and then tighten the grips firmly. Ensure that the specimen will be placed in the center of the grips. Once these above steps will be followed accurately, then you can easily commence the test.
