PDW 20 series have a lever operated Priming Pump that supplies oil to fill up the gauges or external piping. It can create 10% of instrument range and with isolating valves at the extremes forming a closed circuit for removing air.

Working Principle: The instrument relates between the pressure applied to the known area of a vertically free floating piston generating a force equalized by the known dead weights.

Main Components of the tester are:

Screw Pump: The screw pump applies pressure in the circuit of sufficient capacity. The screw pump makes sure that the spoked handle allows accurate pressure setting.

Priming Pump: A lever operated a pump that supplies oil to fill up the huge gauges or external piping. It has the ability to create 5% to 10% of the instrument range and with isolating valves at the extremes forming a closed circuit for removing air.

Free Piston Assembly: A high strength steel piston adjusted with accurate size and fine surface topography providing floating action.

Set of Weights: Every single weight is stamped with values of pressure and kept one over the other on the weight carrier fixed on the free piston. The different units of pressure measurement such as KN/m2, kPa, lbf.in2, kgf/cm2, can be adjusted according to the customer. The weights are provided in two material options: SS 304 and MS Phosphated black. A separate storage box is given for safe storage of weights.

Gauge Connector: ½” BSP (female) union for connecting the gauge to be tested. Various other sizes of gauge may be connected using adaptors.

Incremental Weights: For getting better least count, it is available with every model by paying an extra charge.

Base Plate: A strong base plate which can take the load of the instrument having legs and levelling screws. The whole circuit is protected by a sheet metal cover.

Calibration/ Traceability: Cross float method are used to calibrate against Master Weight Pressure Gauge Tester and Master Dial Pressure gauges. Our instruments possess test certificates traceable to National Standard which meets the requirements of QS 14000, ISO 9000 and other Inspection agencies.
