The strength and quality of paper, corrugated cardboard, carton box, cardboard, leather, cloth or synthetic leathers must be tested at the time of manufacturing. To perform the bursting factor testing, divide the bursting strength by the weight of the sample. The result is expressed in grams/square meter. The testing is performed to calculate the maximum amount of pressure that a paper or cloth material can tolerate.

Presto offers the best, reliable, highly efficient equipment to perform the bursting factor testing in which bursting strength is divided by the actual weight of the sample. The bursting factor of a paper changes with a change in weight of the sample. The bursting factor and bursting strength have a slight difference. The bursting strength is measured efficiently with the help of testing equipment by providing the maximum hydrostatic pressure to a specimen of the corrugated box or other cloth material till it is ruptured. Through a digital Indicator provided within the testing instrument, the actual force required for bursting or complete rupture is displayed. Using the precise result, the packaging manufacturer can use the right material for manufacturing the high strength boxes.

Bursting factor affects the strength of packaging boxes, besides compressibility, tearing resistance, hardness, drop strength and other properties. To the actual quality of a material or corrugated boxes can be identified by determining the bursting strength and bursting factor.
